firefighter FitDeck Exercise Playing CardsI am not in the habit of recommending products but every once in a while a product comes along that is a must-have for personal trainers and exercise fanatics alike. For me, these FitDeck Exercise Playing Cards are that must-have tool.

FitDeck cards are fun for people of all ages because they turn exercising into a game. When I am with a client I hold the deck of cards out and let the client pull a card. The client must perform whatever exercise he or she draws. This prevents the clients from moaning and groaning when they draw the pushups card, which is the least favorite exercise of many of them. This is also an engaging way of helping clients take ownership of their workouts since we all know that clients who take ownership of their fitness routines are more likely to continue those routines once they are no longer with their trainers.

Parents and teachers can do the same thing with their children. FitDeck cards can help transform a lazy afternoon, spent in front of the TV, into an afternoon of great family fun. Savvy parents or teachers can use FitDeck cards to help their children or students feel as if they are playing a game while they are in fact getting a great workout. This helps children see exercise as a positive activity. This is important because children who perceive exercise as fun are more likely to become active adults.

The best thing about using FitDeck cards to customize my clients’ workouts is that I can mix and match various decks of cards and create a one-of-a kind cross training exercise program. FitDeck cards don’t let you become too comfortable with any given exercise routine. Since the exercises are on separate cards it is virtually impossible for anyone to perform the same workout routine twice. This helps keep the workouts fresh and interesting. But, most importantly this prevents your muscles from adapting to any given set of exercises. It is a well known fact amongst fitness professionals that workouts cease to become effective once a client’s muscles have adapted themselves to the stress of the workout. So, by keeping routines freshFitDeck cards help you get in shape faster and stay in shape longer.

There is a FitDeck deck of cards for everyone from expecting mothers to Navy Seal candidates.
