Do Not try the cotton ball diet at home!!

How The Cotton Ball Diet Works

Do the cotton balls sitting on your dresser look yummy to you?

Would you be willing to eat plates full of cotton balls in order to finally shed those stubborn last 10 pounds?

It’s hard to believe that any dieter will be willing to resort to eating nothing but cotton balls. But, believe it or not, this is exactly what the followers of this dangerous fad diet did in order to lose weight.

The cotton ball diet first became popular when fitness experts began to understand the correlation between a high fiber diet and weight loss.

Since cotton balls are naturally high in fiber, low in calories, extremely filling and easily accessible they were viewed as a weight loss miracle product.

However, it wasn’t long before participants of this dangerous fad diet began to experience such unpleasant side effects as extreme malnutrition and digestive health problems. That is because cotton balls are just as nutritious as cardboard. In fact, The cotton ball diet is nothing more than a dangerous starvation diet.

I am happy to report that today, The Cotton Ball Diet is largely forgotten.

Well, the theory is that if you eat nothing but cotton balls you’ll start to lose weight. It’s basically the same as starving yourself because cotton balls have no calories or nutritional value. Very dangerous!

People lose weight because there is no nutritional value in a cotton ball and it fills you up. You could have the same, less harmful effects by filling up with water and not eating food. Do not, do not, do not eat cotton balls.

I know it’s “harder” than starving yourself and filling up on cotton balls, but diet and exercise work wonders.

Sometimes posting what NOT to do, is taken by folks in a really bad place as something they are desperate to try. Please don’t continue with this trend. There are so many other wonderful things you write about that are positive, helpful things TO do.

Okay DON’T DO THIS! I know a girl who thought this was going to be a good idea and she wound up in the hospital with doctors removing part of her small intestines! What do you think that cotton does? Hold a cotton ball with two fingers from each hand, now pull. See how it pulls out into long pieces? That’s what her intestines were full of.
