Taco Bell’s new drive-thru diet is the biggest practical joke ever played on the American people by a corporation.

It all started when a lady by the name of Christine Dougherty claimed to have shed 54 pounds, in two years, while feasting on her favorite items listed on Taco Bell’s “Al Fresco” menu. Needless to say, Ms. Dougherty became an instant celebrity.

Interestingly though, Christine’s story reads more like a legal disclaimer than a true testimonial of a woman’s triumph over obesity. It begins with the phrase, “…is not a weight loss program,” and ends with the phrase, “…results aren’t typical”.

And the “Al Fresco” menu? Well, it offers the serious dieter all of seven options. Only one of which is vegetarian. Can you imagine eating the same items over and over again for two+ years?

Of course, like good salespeople the marketing geniuses behind this amazing product promotion scheme attempt to close the sale by asking consumers to make a resolution or what they so creatively have termed a “Frescolution”.

  1. Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!

  2. Thank You :) I am glad you’re enjoying my posts. These comments are very encouraging to me since I am just one voice going up against giants such as the Taco Bell Corporation. And as you can imagine they don’t find what I have to say about their products and campaigns very amusing :)
