My Favorite Strawberry Smoothie Recipe
This strawberry smoothie is one of my favorite breakfasts!
In the summertime I make this smoothie with fresh fruit and in the winter months I make it with frozen strawberries and frozen mixed berries that I buy from Costco.
Plus, if I know I am going to have an extra busy day, that will not allow me to eat a snack between my breakfast and lunch I add 1/4 cup of plain Quaker oatmeal or 2 inches of organic firm Tofu to it.
I also make this strawberry smoothie as brunch for my friends and family because it’s so delicious, versatile and kid-friendly. In fact, this recipe was an instant hit with ALL of my friends’ picky eaters so much so that it’s the only way one of my friends can get her 5-year old to eat yogurt and fruit.
It’s also worth mentioning that some of my friends prefer coconut water to soy milk. Others prefer skim milk. This fact doesn’t pose a problem since substituting coconut water or skim milk in place of soy milk does not change the flavor of this smoothie at all.
Likewise, my mom likes her smoothie with frozen fat free strawberry yogurt and no protein powder.
In other words, don’t be afraid to experiment with this recipe because regardless of what you add or subtract from it, this fruit combination is guaranteed to produce for you a delicious summertime smoothie.
