walk the dog

Published on March 27, 2010 with 2 Comments

The driving license of a 23 year old British man was recently taken away after he was caught walking his dog through the open window of his moving car. Paul Railton, the man too lazy to actually walk his dog, was cited by police for the violation of “The Road Traffic Act”.

Paul Railton’s lawyer has released the following statement, “He accepts it was a silly thing to do, just out of pure laziness”.

In reality though, Paul Railton is surprised he was even cited. He made the following statement to the media, “A lot of people exercise their dogs in that manner”. Source: www.livecitizen.com

  • Now, first of all, I would just like to express how sorry I feel for that poor dog for having such a lazy and careless owner. As a dog owner myself I can honestly say that not only is he missing out on the joys of walking his dog he is also putting that dog in great danger by having him walk alongside a moving car.
  • Secondly, I find the fact that Britain already has a law to prevent such an act hilarious. Don’t you? This can only mean that Paul is right: a lot of British people do walk their dogs in this manner.
  • It’s common knowledge that laws are only enacted after a few people have been caught doing something that doesn’t seem right to someone else. So, after seeing a lot of poor dogs being “walked” through the open windows of moving cars someone said, “hey, there should be law against that?” And of course, Paul Railton, the poster child of British laziness, got his fifteen minutes of fame by falling victim to this law.

  1. Nice story, well spotted Paulin. I think the law, if it really exists (we’re awfully near April 1st.) exists because of the danger from a slow-moving car on the road. This can confuse other drivers. However, I have been away from my motherland for 14 years, and there may now be laws aimed at lazy people for all I know. And about bloody time too.

(I reblogged your piece on ‘night eating’ without asking – hope you don’t mind)

    • Hi Bob :)

Thank you for passing it (piece on night eating) on.
