Fit and Healthy After 40?

Published on June 24, 2010 with No Comments

Over the years I have had many careers. I have worked in marketing, sold high-end jewelry, and taught high school English. However, my most rewarding job was as a personal trainer at an exclusive fitness facility catering to everyday people who wanted to overcome injury, lose weight, reclaim their health and start living a healthier lifestyle. In fact most of you know that I initially started The Underground Bootcamp as a blog to help answer the frequently asked questions of my personal training clients. Today, the goal of The Underground Bootcamp is to bring “healthy living for the rest of us” to the mainstream.

So, what does this slogan actually mean? Well, first consider the notion that in our society we have come to associate the concepts of “healthy”, “fit”, “active” and “athletic” with the words young, thin, strong and single. The Underground Bootcamp strives to change this belief and teach everyday people, who may no longer be young, thin, strong or single how to take back control of their well-being and become healthy, fit, active and athletic.

There are many who say this can’t be done. However, I believe that not only can it be done but that it must be done. But don’t just take my word for it. Listen to Ed Cook’s inspiring story of how he turned his unhealthy lifestyle around and earned the title of Old Superman at the age of 48.
